ABOUT

Volunteers are at the heart of MCA’s work in the choral community, and we would not survive without the dedication and commitment of these amazing individuals! If you would like to support MCA by volunteering your time we would love to have you join our team. Help us find the right fit for you by filling out our volunteering form.

MCA is always looking for volunteers who want to be involved in our committees, special interest groups, events, library, and operations.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

CHOIR HOST

Assist conductors and choristers as needed. Duties: • Fetch missing rehearsal items and/or supplies as needed • Guide choir to rehearsal spaces, concert stage, seating areas, etc. • VERY IMPORTANT: Collect music after concert! Requirements: • Clear, friendly communication • Ability to move throughout the rehearsal/concert spaces • Attendance at online orientation

MCA TABLE

Sell merchandise and provide info about MCA activities/MB Sings. Duties: • Sell and restock MCA merchandise and giveaway items • Sales may be cash, debit or credit card (using Square) • Provide information to participants • Assist with setup and teardown of the area Requirements: • Clear, friendly communication • Ability to process, track, and secure all forms of payment • Attendance at online orientation

REGISTRATION

(Friday) Welcome all MB Sings participants and get them checked in efficiently. Duties: • Check in choristers • Hand out music folders, pencils, t-shirts, and other materials • Assist with setup and teardown of the area Requirements: • Friday availability • Clear, friendly communication • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Attendance at online orientation

MEAL SUPERVISOR

(Saturday) Supervise lunchroom, setup, and help serve pizza supper. Duties: • Monitor food and drink supply and replenish as needed • Ensure lunchroom and supplies are left clean Requirements: • Saturday availability • Clear, friendly communication • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Attendance at online orientation

MANUAL LABOUR

(Saturday) Teardown rehearsal venue equipment and pack up for transportation. Duties: • Take down equipment and pack for transportation • Load equipment into vehicle(s) • Deliver equipment to destination Requirements: • Saturday availability • Comfortable lifting and moving heavy equipment • Vehicle access is not required but would be helpful

BOX OFFICE

(Sunday) Sell admission to audience and/or participants. Duties: • Welcome audience members, collect admission fees and distribute programs • Sales may be cash, debit or credit card (using Square) • Provide information to audience members and/or participants Requirements: • Sunday availability • Clear, friendly communication • Ability to process, track, and secure all forms of payment • Attendance at online orientation

USHER

(Sunday) Welcome ticket holders to Finale Concert. Duties: • Verify online ticket holders • Direct audience to seats, manage lineups • Hand out programs • Assist with “Pass the Sack” donation collection Requirements: • Sunday availability • Clear, friendly communication • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Attendance at online orientation

PARKING ATTENDANT

(Sunday) Manage the parking lot at the concert venue. Duties: • Direct the flow of vehicles in the parking lot • Provide direction for accessible parking and drop-offs • Ensure fire lanes, back lane and entrance are not blocked Requirements: • Sunday availability • Clear, friendly communication • Ability to stand outside for long periods of time • Follow safe work guidelines • Attendance at online orientation Requirements: • Sunday availability Clear, friendly communication Ability to stand outside for long periods of time Follow safe work guidelines Attendance at online orientation
