ChoralFest is an annual two-week, non-competitive festival that provides choirs and conductors an opportunity to work with acclaimed adjudicators and expert clinicians from across the continent. The festival invites all levels and styles of choral singing, including vocal jazz. Approximately 150 choirs and 6,000 singers participate each year.
ChoralFest is open to all choirs; no matter a choir’s level of experience, our adjudicators and clinicians work with each group at its own level. Participating choirs must be members of MCA. For more information on membership with MCA, click here.
Although ChoralFest is non-competitive, adjudicators may recommend choirs to represent Manitoba at the national annual festival, MusicFest Canada.
Registration in ChoralFest includes:
Performance timeslot for 2-3 pieces
Written adjudications from renowned adjudicators
One 30-minute clinic (Early Years, Middle Years) or two 20-minute clinics (Senior Years, Community, Vocal Jazz choirs) with experienced clinicians
Opportunity to listen to other choirs
Certificate of participation
Registration fees are posted a minimum of 2 months prior to the festival and are non-refundable. Payment may be made by Credit Card, Cheque, e-Transfer, or Invoice.
We are honoured to have so many choirs from across Manitoba join us for ChoralFest. As such, scheduling requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. A preliminary schedule will be emailed to all registrants at least 4 weeks prior to the festival.
Note: If you haven’t registered your choir for a current MCA membership yet you will be prompted to do so before filling out the form.

ChoralFest 2022 will run from November 14 to 23, 2022* and will include two major components:
Traditional ChoralFest format for Senior Years, Community Choirs (Senior Years: November 14-18; Community: November 19)* - Performances in pod system + 2, 20-min clinics in either English or French. Prairie Spirit United Church, Winnipeg.
Traditional ChoralFest format for Vocal Jazz Ensembles (November 21-23)* - Performances in pod system + 2, 20-min clinics. Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg.
*NEW* Early Years & Middle Years Clinics (November 14-17)* - 30-min clinic tailored to your choir. Focus on your choir's repertoire or receive a general clinic.
