Call for Performers for Manitoba Choral Association's 50th Anniversary Gala Concert!

 

Join us for the final event in Manitoba Choral Association's 50th anniversary celebrations! Our Gala Concert will showcase the diversity and vitality of MCA's member choirs in a joyful display of why Manitoba is known as the 'The Singing Province'. This fundraiser will also ensure that MCA's programs and services continue to support group singing in our province well into the future, for singers of all ages and stages.

Saturday, November 28, 2026 | 7:00-9:00 PM

Prairie Spirit United Church, Winnipeg

We invite choirs and singing groups of all backgrounds, music styles, skill levels, and voice parts, from any part of the province, to apply to perform at our 50th Anniversary Gala Concert! There is no application fee, but choirs must be MCA members to perform.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

• 10-minute performance slot in the Gala Concert (2-3 songs)

• Basic stage* set-up:

  • Choral risers (6 sections of 3 steps)

  • Grand piano

  • *Stage and venue are accessible

• Equipment available upon request:

  • Drum kit

  • Bass amp

  • Up to three solo mics

  • Digital track amplification

  • Note: Groups are responsible for providing any additional instruments and/or equipment needed for their performance

• Groups traveling from 50+ km outside of Winnipeg will be eligible for a travel subsidy

Submissions are due June 30, 2026.

The 50th anniversary committee will review submissions and extend performance invitations in July. Choirs will be selected with the goal of showcasing the wide variety of wonderful group singing taking place across our province.

​

IMPORTANT DATES:

    • June 30 – Deadline for submissions

    • Early July – Invitations sent out to choirs/ensembles selected to perform

    • August 31 – Deadline to renew your MCA membership (all choirs/ensembles must be current MCA members)

    • November 1 – Deadline to confirm program information and final performance and staging requests 

    • November 28 – 50th Anniversary Gala Concert
