DAVID G. H. WATERS HYMN SING MEMORIAL AWARD
The CBC Hymn Sing Chorus was a professional choir which provided singing experience and financial means for many young singers in Manitoba to further their education and embark on a career in music.
This award recognizes the significant role that participation in school, community and church choirs play in the development of a singer’s love of music and the decision to further his or her studies in music with the goal of a professional career. The award pays tribute to David Waters, producer and director of Hymn Sing, who encouraged choristers in their musical development. It has been established by Deanna Waters and Hymn Sing Alumni who want to pass on to others the opportunities and encouragement they received.
The intent of this award is to invest in young choral singers to help them achieve their postsecondary educational goals in the field of music. Singers wishing to apply for this award must fill out the application form below. Applications must be received by May 31 for the upcoming year of study.
