MCA is pleased to announce that Jenny Steinke-Magnus has been hired as our new Executive Director.
Jenny comes highly qualified, with a reputation for bringing a positive energy and enthusiasm to organizations she works with. Throughout her career she has held roles for non-profit organizations in the areas of communications, event management, administration and human resource management.
Jenny has worked closely with non-profit boards including a term as President of Rainbow Harmony Project. Her extensive experience in organizing and managing events including concerts, fundraisers, professional development and choir retreats has grown through positions with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Canadian Lutheran World Relief, and Strauss event & association management.
Jenny earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French linguistics from the University of Winnipeg and a Master of Arts in French Studies from Simon Fraser University, where she received several awards of distinction, including the coveted Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
Jenny has a passion for choral singing. She has been involved in Manitoba’s choral scene as singer and administrator since her youth. In her words: “Choir has played a central role in my life for many years, and I am thrilled to work for an association that is dedicated to serving the choral community and supporting choral music development and appreciation in Manitoba.”
